This collection consists of one document, a bill of sale from Wiley M. Pearce to W.R. Phillips for a male slave named Wade, age 35. Phillips paid Pearce one thousand and twenty dollars for Wade. The sale took place on November 19, 1859 in Macon, Georgia. In the bill of sale, Pearce testifies that Wade is "sound and healthy both in body and mind."
